Why should I choose a Nordic Room?
Our over 22 years of experience in building timber frame garden buildings tells us that the following criteria is important;
*
- First and foremost – Quality! Believing in Scandinavian standards, understanding the materials we use and speaking to our existing clients gives a confidence in the calibre of garden rooms and garden offices that we supply, ensuring they meet a wide range of needs from different roof types to security measures, and compliance with planning permission and building regulations.
- Our customers value our genuine support and advice. Because every garden room and office is completely unique, whether it’s picking colours or ensuring it meets building regulations, we provide good old-fashioned honesty and experience throughout your process
- 7 out of 10 of our garden room installations are built within permitted development rights you can build your insulated outdoor room without planning permission.
- We strive to be environmentally friendly. To us that does not only mean recycling the office paper but taking responsibility in only using certified timber and making sure the building performs well in terms of insulation and heat control so our fully insulated garden rooms are warm in winter.
- Introducing the option of a premium garden room, designed for versatility and year-round usability with features like double glazed and UPVC windows, making it an ideal space for entertaining guests or family activities.
- On-going service plan once your garden studio is built and we don’t stop there. As timber frame constructions are prone to some movement over time whilst they settle, we ensure we come and check your Nordic Room within the first 12 months to make any necessary adjustments and ensure the cabin gets the care it deserves.
Quality as Standard
Each of our Nordic Rooms, or log cabin garden offices, are built using tried and tested Scandinavian techniques. We use only the finest C-graded timber imported from Scandinavia to create our fully insulated cavity walls, floor, and roof, featuring interlocking tongue and groove timber for enhanced durability. Externally we clad our Nordic Rooms with Thermowood. This combination has stood the test of time in the harshest of Scandinavian climates, making it very robust for the milder English weather. Additionally, we offer a 10 year guarantee to assure our customers of protection against rot, decay, and insect infestation, emphasising the reliability and durability of our wooden garden offices.

Warranty & Service Plan
We give a 10 year warranty on our Nordic Rooms for peace of mind. Once the Nordic Room is ready we send a representative out to view your garden room and look for any discrepancies in the built quality and will consequently make sure any snags are dealt with. As a timber frame garden building takes a while to settle we come out and do a service a year after the built, to make any tweaks necessary.

Designing for Permitted Building Rights and Planning Permission
We can guide you in what is best suited for your garden and to make the most of your permitted building rights. Should you wish to build a garden room with a bedroom or build larger and taller than is permitted without permission, we can put you in contact with a planning consultant to help you on the way. To achieve the perfect made to measure garden room for you we invite you to sit down with one of our team for a free consultation and discuss your ideas. They will then transform them into a plan that fits your site exactly down to the position of doors and windows and even which way you would like the roof to slope. We will try and find the best solution and plan that is yours alone and fits your project, budget and lifestyle. We will also be able to help you with special requests in design, windows, doors, wood treatment and fire protection. Additionally, for those considering a garden office pod, we offer fully customisable options in various sizes, including garden office pods with sidestores for extra storage, ensuring they meet different planning permissions and fit any garden size.
ENERGY EFFICIENT
A timber frame building makes an extremely energy efficient, insulated garden room, especially when equipped with double glazed windows. These windows are key in enhancing the insulation and energy efficiency of the garden rooms, contributing significantly to their suitability for year-round use by providing superior insulation and soundproofing. Wood has been proven to be one of the best naturally occurring insulators known to man. In each square inch of wood there are thousands of tiny air pockets that trap and slow the transfer of heat through. Packing the inside wall cavity full of insulation, damp membrane, breathing membrane, and to top it, a cold bridge, along with the installation of double glazed windows, will keep your cabin up to date with UK building regulations. Additionally, considering the garden space available is crucial in selecting the right size and type of garden room to meet the customer’s work requirements and personal tastes, ensuring a perfect fit for different garden sizes and budgets.
